We have gathered top books by Max Lucado for you to read. American author and minister Max Lucado was born on January 11, 1955, in Oak Hills Church (previously the Oak Hills Church of Christ) in San Antonio, Texas.
The youngest of Jack and Thelma Lucado’s four children, Lucado was born in San Angelo, Texas. He was raised in Andrews, Texas. His mother was a nurse, while his father, who was of Italian descent, worked in oil fields.
Lucado completed his undergraduate studies in mass communication at Abilene Christian University. Lucado used the Southwestern Advantage business program to sell books door-to-door while attending Abilene Christian in order to pay for his education.
He claimed that after taking a mandatory Bible course at the university and going on a missionary trip, he changed his mind and decided to become a missionary instead of pursuing his original goal of becoming a lawyer. But in order to achieve this, Lucado had to have at least two years of church ministry experience and a doctorate degree in Bible and Biblical Studies. Lucado earned a master’s degree in Bible and Biblical Studies from Abilene Christian University.
Lucado joined the Central Church of Christ in Miami, Florida, as an associate minister following graduation. At first, he was in charge of a singles’ group and wrote a column for the church’s newsletter.
