Fans React: “The Chosen” Movie #1 After Trailer Release

With over a million views in less than a day, the season 5 teaser for “The Chosen” shot to the top of the YouTube charts.

As fans prepare for a season filled with gospel-centered storylines, the film rose to the top of YouTube’s popular trending ranking.

As part of a three-part film event, season five will make its theatrical debut. Additionally, it would be available for streaming on March 28, April 4, and April 11.

Creator and director Dallas Jenkins wrote in a message to fans, “Yes, it’s sad and heartbreaking because we’re getting closer to the cross, but we’re also going to see some of the most iconic and deeply moving moments from Scripture.”

“The Last Supper, Judas’ betrayal, the triumphal entry, and the turning of the tables-all set against the biggest backdrop and sets we’ve ever used with a new widescreen format that demands to be seen on the big screen. Of course, we continue our obsession to humanize and authenticate everyone involved. The table is set. I can’t wait for you to see this in theaters.” The trailer shows Jesus riding a donkey into Jerusalem and getting ready to purge the temple by chasing out money changers and merchants, and it also features a scene of the Last Supper.
