American conservative faith healer and TV evangelist Andrew Wommack was born in Marshall, Texas, in 1949. He established Charis Bible College (formerly Colorado Bible College) in 1994 and Andrew Wommack Ministries in 1978.
Background
In 1969, Wommack began preaching. In 1972, he wed his wife Jamie. The couple had two sons, Joshua and Jonathan Peter, and during the course of the following six years, they served as the leaders of three tiny churches. Andrew’s first Gospel Truth radio show was broadcast on a small country-and-western station in Childress, Texas, in 1976. The Wommacks relocated their ministry to Colorado Springs in 1980 after establishing Andrew Wommack Ministries, Inc. in 1978. Wommack says that he has been airing the show ever since, with the exception of a few months.
Beginning on the INSP Network in January 2000, the Gospel Truth television program subsequently spread to other Christian television networks as well as a few independent stations. With his own daily radio and television program, Gospel Truth with Andrew Wommack, Wommack became a member of Trinity Broadcasting Network’s lineup.
Charis Bible College
In 1994, Wommack founded the unaccredited Bible college known as Charis Bible College (CBC), formerly known as Colorado Bible College.
Truth And Liberty Coalition
Wommack is one of six co-founders of the Truth and Liberty Coalition, a dominionist group that holds that Christians have been given “a mandate to bring Godly change to our world, through the seven spheres of societal influence,” which include law and government, education, media, news and commentary, business and economics, religion and faith, and the arts and entertainment. Lance Wallnau, Karen Conrad, David Barton, William J. “Bill” Federer, and Richard Harris are the other five co-founders.
