Apostle Jonathan Shekwonya, who was born on October 9, is the founder and president of Family Worship Experience International (FWEI), which has locations in Masaka, Nigeria, and Keffi, Nassarawa State. He is a Nassarawa State University alumnus. The Ministry conducts a weekly program in Nassarawa State on Fridays at Keffi and Sundays in Masaka.
The grace of Apostle Joshua Selman Nimmak, his spiritual father, is directly transmitted and replicated by Apostle Jonathan Shekwonya. You can mistake him for Apostle Joshua Selman when you hear him talk.
Serving as a pastor for 22 years, Apostle Jonathan Shekwonya was the biological father of the late Reverend Josiah Shekwonya. He has held the positions of one-time president of the Christian Law Students’ Fellowship of Nigeria NSUK Chapter (CLASFON) and keyboardist for the Fellowship of Christian Students (FSC), Nasarawa State University Keffi (NSUK) Chapter.
Having completed his legal studies, he started the ministry Family Worship Experience Int’l (FWEI)—A Place of Word, Worship, and Intimacy—at the age of 23. Under the direction of his spiritual father, Apostle Joshua Selman Nimmak of the Eternity Network International (Koinonia), he began the ministry with seven friends at Nasarawa State University’s Keffi Basket Ball Court. He replicated the same grace upon the life of his spiritual father in Zaria on both campuses, where thousands gather every Friday in Keffi at 6 PM and Masaka at 5 PM on Sundays.
Pastor Mrs. Jooy Shekwonya (née Adamu), the love of Apostle Jonathan Shekwonya’s life, is the happy wife of her husband. They were blessed with a lovely daughter, Menorah Shekwoyemi (which means “God loves me”), Jonathan Shekwonya, after being married on November 19.
