Born on May 14, 1963, Dag Heward-Mills is a Ghanaian religious leader who resides in Accra, Ghana. He is the founder and presiding Bishop of the United Denominations Originating from the Lighthouse Group of Churches, formerly known as Lighthouse Chapel International and the United Organization of First Love Churches (UO-FLC).

He also founded the Anagkazo Bible and Ministry Training Center in Ghana’s Eastern Region. A retired medical professional, Dag has served on the executive committee of the Pentecostal World Fellowship and the board of directors of Church Growth International.

Early Life

Elizabeth and Nathaniel Heward-Mills, whose mother is Swiss, welcomed Dag Heward-Mills into the world on May 14, 1963, in London. He went to Achimota School in Ghana after they relocated there.

In 1989, Dag Heward-Mills received his medical degree from the University of Ghana.

Ministry

In 1986, his church began as a small group of five people in a canteen. Heward-Mills founded Lighthouse Chapel International in 1988. The church constructed their first cathedral in Korle-Gonno in 1991 after purchasing a nearby movie theater.

The Healing Jesus Campaign, one of the biggest evangelical crusades in the world, was started by Heward-Mills with the goal of winning 100 million people for Christ. Heward-Mills’s campaigns have been compared to Reinhard Bonnke’s.

To prepare men and women for missions in the hands-on work of the ministry, he established the Anagkazo Bible and Ministry Training Center (ABMTC). One of the biggest privately owned campuses in the nation, the Bible School is situated in the Akuapem Mountains.

First Love Church, which Heward-Mills became pastor of in 2011, changed its name to the United Organization of First Love Churches in 190 nations (UO-FLC 190) in 2020.
