Who is Liz Benson?

Born on April 5, 1966, Elizabeth “Liz” Benson Listen is a seasoned Nigerian actress, philanthropist, and television personality.

Early Life

Liz Benson was born in the southern Nigerian state of Akwa Ibom, in Etinan. She received a degree in Dramatic Arts from Sylvania State College in the United States of America. When Benson was five years old, she started performing.

Career

Early achievement and leaving the Film Industry

In 1993, she had an appearance in the television soap opera Fortunes. In the soap opera, which aired on the NTA Network for around two years, Benson portrayed Mrs. Agnes Johnson. Her reputation as a movie actor was solidified in 1994 when she starred in the popular escorting-themed home video movie Glamour Girls. In 1996, Benson abruptly stopped performing.

Her return

It was revealed that she is a born-again Christian and now works as a full-time gospel preacher since she returned to Nollywood. She clarified in an interview that she would only appear in movies that she felt aligned with her religious beliefs.

Personal Life

In her mid-twenties, Liz Benson lost her first husband, Samuel Gabriel Etim. She claimed that his character had given her strength, which enabled her to continue raising her kids in the wake of the loss.

Following her conversion, the actress, who was born in Ibibio, attempted marriage once more. She married Bishop Great Ameye of Freedom Family Assembly at the Rainbow Christian Assembly in Warri, Delta State, in a low-key court ceremony in Abuja in 2009. The pair is actively committed in an evangelical Christian ministry. Her spouse, Ameye, is a pastor in Jesse Town, Ethiopia West, Delta State, while Benson is an evangelist. Benson, an evangelist, and her spouse reside in Delta State. Together, they manage Freedom Family Assembly, a ministry.
