Who is Patience Ozokwor?
Nigerian actress and musician Patience Ozokwor, better known by her stage names Mama G and G for General, was born on September 14, 1958. In 2012 and 2013, she took home the Best Supporting Actress prize at the Africa Film Academy Awards. Her most well-known roles are those of villains. The government recognized Ozokwor as one of the top 100 Nigerians in 2014 to commemorate the union of the northern and southern protectorates.
She received the 2023 Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards Merit Award on May 20, 2023.
Patience Ozokwor Early Life
Born in the Nigerian hamlet of Amaebo, Ngwo, in what is now Enugu State, Patience Ozokwor went to Abimbola Gibson Memorial School in Lagos. Since elementary school, Patience Ozokwor has been passionate about acting, participating in many theatrical productions. A fine and applied arts degree was later earned by Patience at the Institute of Management and Technology Enugu (ESUT). She appeared in a radio drama before beginning her career as an actress.
She participated in the “Someone Cares” soap opera produced by the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA). She got married when she was 19 and has five adopted children and three biological children who all share her name. Ozokwor lost her husband in 2000, making her a widow.
Career
Prior to becoming an actress, she worked as a broadcaster and announcer on Radio Nigeria. Her debut TV drama, Someone Cares, won a soap opera on the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA), and she became well-known for her performance in the 1999 film Authority. She has acted in more than 100 films since becoming well-known.
She most recently played Madam Pat in Chief Daddy (2018) and Chief Daddy 2: Going for Broke (2022), all of which were released on Netflix by Mo Abudu.
Personal Life
She married when she was 19 and lost her spouse to a fatal illness. She has three adopted children, four biological children, and grandchildren. She is a licensed evangelist as well.
Patience Ozokwor Faith
After a 30-day fast, multiple award-winning actress Patience Ozokwor became a born-again Christian. In an interview with Star Tells at the St. Marks Anglican Church in Eziobodo Village, Imo State, the actress revealed this.
The actress claimed that she has not received a message from the Holy Spirit to give up acting, and that she has seen the light and is unable to return to her former way of life, which included wearing jewelry, dreadlocks, and pants.
Ozokwor further disclosed that, despite earning at least N1.5 million a week from filming, she has not been working on any film projects since her encounter with Christ.
According to reports, the actress heard the Holy Spirit instructing her to fast for 21 days, but she grumbled that she had too many projects to manage, including sponsorships and films to shoot during that time. The Lord extended it to 30 days because of the excuses.
She is a gospel musician and has been spotted ministering at churches while still acting.

According to reports, the award-winning Nigerian fashion designer is worth between $1 million and $5 million. Her acting job is her main source of income. She also makes money from brand endorsements, having worked with well-known companies like Globacom, MTN, and Gracia Planta Plantain Flour.
