Bishop David Oyedepo, the founder of Living Faith Church Worldwide, also referred to as Winners Chapel, has revealed a promise he made to God to construct 1,000 churches before he died.
In a recent sermon, he disclosed this dedication, saying that he had already promised God this before opening his first bank account.
“Before I had the first bank account, I said, ‘Jesus, if you ever bless me, I want to be part of building new churches.
“How many have heard that before? You have always heard everything,” he said.
In order to demonstrate the extent of his dedication, Bishop David Oyedepo pledged to construct 1000 churches; “I told Jesus, I don’t want to come to heaven without a thousand churches built in your name.”
He urged his followers to consider how committed and eager they were to serve God.
“Some may even have buses that are doing nothing on Sunday, but they won’t bring them out.
“Because, ah, N2,000 per half litre. If it’s in your heart, go put it in your heart,” he added.
His promise, which emphasizes the value of using one’s own resources for kingdom service, has inspired and convinced his community.
