Gaither Gospel Hour Lands on TBN in Former Huckabee Slot
The Gaither Gospel Hour, hosted by Bill and Gloria Gaither, has taken over the Saturday evening time slot on TBN previously held by Huckabee. This programming change follows Mike Huckabee’s departure to become U.S. ambassador to Israel. The Gaither Gospel Hour debuted on February 1st at 8:00 PM EST with the “Sweet Hymns of Fellowship” special.
For decades, the Gaithers have been influential figures in gospel music, showcasing renowned artists in memorable performances. Their new show on TBN promises viewers the same heartwarming fellowship and classic hymns that have made them beloved figures in faith-based entertainment.
The debut episode, “Sweet Hymns of Fellowship,” was filmed near Franklin, Tennessee, and features a remarkable collaboration of gospel legends and contemporary artists. With 200 voices joining together, the special includes performances by Sandi Patty, The Oak Ridge Boys, Jason Crabb, the Gaither Vocal Band, Selah, and Joseph Habedank. Timeless hymns such as “Love Lifted Me,” “I Surrender All,” and “Sweet Hour of Prayer” are featured.
“Bringing Gaither Gospel Hour to TBN is an exciting new chapter,” said Bill Gaither. “We’re thrilled to continue sharing the music and message that have touched so many lives. The Sweet Hymns special is the perfect way to launch this journey, as it reflects everything we cherish about gospel music—its rich history, its timeless melodies, and its ability to bring people together in faith.”
Bill and Gloria Gaither’s legendary career includes writing over 700 songs, eight Grammy Awards, over 40 GMA DOVE Awards, and the 2024 Jackie Patillo Leadership Award. Their Homecoming series of videos and concerts has become a staple in the gospel music world.
The “Sweet Hymns of Fellowship” album, DVD, and digital release are available now for streaming and purchase, allowing fans to experience the music before the television premiere.
