On Wednesday, May 28, 2025, Bolaji Olanrewaju, popularly known as Big Bolaji, a Nigerian gospel singer, was buried in Ibadan, Oyo State.
After a brief illness, Big Bolaji died on April 19, 2025, at the age of 50.
At the Hall of Grace, Jogor Center, Ibadan, a funeral service and lying-in-state marked the start of the last ceremonies. To pay their final respects, family members, close friends, and other gospel singers attended the sorrowful event.
Tosin Bee, Mike Abdul, Bidemi Olaoba, Yetunde Are, and well-known comedian Woli Agba were among the notable guests.
As pallbearers carried Big Bolaji’s casket decorated with flowers into the event, heartfelt moments were documented on social media.
Attendees wept and applauded as a poignant tribute video detailing his musical journey and spiritual impact was shown during the service.
Big Bolaji was well-known for both his lively radio persona and his contributions to evangelical music. Fans and colleagues will remember him for his powerful ministry and legacy.
