An RCCG minister’s home was attacked by unidentified gunmen, killing his son and kidnapping his wife in the Mararaba town in Nasarawa State, close to Abuja. The community is in shock and mourning following the catastrophe, which happened early on Monday.
During the savage attack, Minister Austin Ifeji was wounded by a machete and barely survived. But while trying to defend his mother from the attackers, his kid was shot and killed. Other siblings were hurt as well. According to reports, the gunmen killed the minister’s son and abducted his wife before demanding a 30 million naira ransom.
The deceased was the minister’s only son and had four sisters, according to family sources. He was shot after allegedly attempting to save his mother by confronting the kidnappers. He passed away from his wounds in spite of the hospital’s attempts to revive him.
The Nasarawa State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Rahman Nansel, said that at the time of reporting, the police command was unaware of the event.
