The late well-known gospel singer Osinachi’s husband, Peter Nwachukwu, was given a hanging death sentence.
The Federal Capital Territory High Court, located in Wuse Zone 2, Abuja, sentenced the late gospel singer’s husband to death by hanging.
Peter Nwachukwu was sentenced on Monday by High Court Justice Nwosu-Iheme.
The Office of Attorney-General of the Federation (OAGF) arraigned Mr. Nwachukwu on June 3, 2022, on 23 charges, including culpable homicide, which carries a death sentence.
Criminal intimidation, cruelty to children, criminal intimidation of minors, and spousal violence are additional offenses.
Nwachukwu was condemned to death by hanging on Count 1 despite Reginald Nwali, his attorney, pleading for compassion.
Nwachukwu was later given a death by hanging sentence on count 1 by Justice Nwosu-Iheme. He was found guilty on counts 2, 3, 8, 9, 12, 13, and 18 and given a two-year prison sentence each.
As you may remember, the late gospel singer died on April 8, 2022, when she was 42 years old.
