Korede Komaiya, the presiding pastor of The Master’s Place International Church in Warri, Delta State, has come under heavy fire from online users for claiming to have been one of the people who gifted Bishop David Oyedepo a Rolls-Royce as a gift and for converting his annual income into a daily one.
Komaiya was one of four people who donated money to buy Bishop Oydepo’s Rolls-Royce for his 70th birthday last year, according to a social media post by Church Gist.
He claimed that out of the N1.5 billion the four of them had to pay for the car, his N250 million payment was the least amount.
However, a month following the massive gift to Oyedepo, Komaiya asserted that his annual income became his daily income. He also stated that he never goes a week without receiving a real estate gift.
He asserted that Oyedepo prayed intensely for the four of them after requesting them to kneel, promising them blessings they could never have dreamed of.
On the other hand, Komaiya’s submission sparked strong opinions among netizens who followed the post online.
Stephens Victor Seko, a responder, stated: “Oga korede I want to ask you a few questions. 1. What was your income source that caused you to relocate from M to B in less than a month? 2. Your statement and Biodun Fatoyinbo’s statement regarding this gift are contradictory. He said that when the gift was given, he wasn’t even present. However, you mentioned that the bishop asked the four of you to kneel and offer prayers for you. Who is lying here, Oga?
Aribo Wole, another analyst, said, “Let’s not let anyone fool us. Feed the needy if you give them $250 million to build homes. God will reward you in the same way that he will reward you for giving Bishop Oyedepo. Giving the bishop should not make you feel more blessed than anyone else.
In response, John Kenny Adekeke said, “Is it the type of message that Christ instructed us to teach until He returns?’ I doubt a week will go by that I don’t receive property. Where in the Bible is this found?
Whatever gifts Christ gives us shouldn’t be the message we preach because His job is to bring people into His kingdom. You simply imparted lessons similar to Mammon’s. Modify the way you communicate going forward. God bless you.
But according to Adeoye Adewale, Komaiya is gloating. “I would immediately return the Rolls-Royce if I were Oyedepo,” he said. The Yorubas refer to this as Iregun. There are dumb preachers everywhere.
Oyedele Oluwole said. “You have members of your church who are in desperate need of funds to establish themselves. Some of your members are in urgent need of money for medical expenses.
Even members of your church are having financial difficulties. We declare and derive from all of this garbage without using critical thinking.
Apostle Anselm Madubuko, the founder of the Revival Assembly, joined the debate and attacked the doubters. “He just told you guys what worked for him, so why the insults?” asked the man. Take it or leave it, and move on! There are evil people everywhere.
Joyful Ugbo sarcastic. She added, “Poverty people go come here now..de yarn say this money dem for usage am for de poor, meanwhile they don’t have a notion of the influence of this great men on the poor.. Since many respondents believed Komaiya was merely sharing his perspective, they also believed he shouldn’t be held to any standards.
