Korede Komaiya’s N1.5 Billion Rolls-Royce Gift Sparks Online Backlash

Netizens have harshly criticized Korede Komaiya, the presiding pastor of The Master’s Place International Church in Warri, Delta State, for his assertion that he was among those who gave Bishop David Oyedepo a Rolls-Royce present and for turning his yearly salary into his daily salary.

According to a social media post by Church Gist, Komaiya was one of four individuals who contributed funds to purchase Bishop Oydepo’s Rolls-Royce for his 70th birthday last year.

He said that his N250 million payment was the least of all the N1.5 billion that the four of them had to pay for the car.

However, Komaiya claimed that his yearly income turned into his daily income a month after the enormous present to Oyedepo, and he added that he never goes a week without receiving a gift of real estate.

He claimed that after asking the four of them to kneel, Oyedepo fervently prayed for them, promising them blessings they never would have imagined.

However, netizens who followed the post online had strong opinions about Komaiya’s submission.

Stephens Victor Seko, a responder, stated: “Oga korede I want to ask you a few questions. 1. What was your income source that caused you to relocate from M to B in less than a month? 2. Your statement and Biodun Fatoyinbo’s statement regarding this gift are contradictory. He said that when the gift was given, he wasn’t even present. However, you mentioned that the bishop asked the four of you to kneel and offer prayers for you. Who is lying here, Oga?

Aribo Wole, another analyst, said, “Let’s not let anyone fool us. Feed the needy if you give them $250 million to build homes. God will reward you in the same way that he will reward you for giving Bishop Oyedepo. Giving the bishop should not make you feel more blessed than anyone else.

In response, John Kenny Adekeke said, “Is it the type of message that Christ instructed us to teach until He returns?’ I doubt a week will go by that I don’t receive property. Where in the Bible is this found?

Christ’s mission is to bring people into His kingdom, therefore whatever gifts He bestows upon us shouldn’t be the message we spread from the pulpit. You have just taught messages akin to those of Mammon. Make changes to your future communications. May God bless you.

But according to Adeoye Adewale, Komaiya is gloating. “I would immediately return the Rolls-Royce if I were Oyedepo,” he said. The Yorubas refer to this as Iregun. There are dumb preachers everywhere.

Oyedele Oluwole said. “You have members of your church who are in desperate need of funds to establish themselves. Some of your members are in urgent need of money for medical expenses.

You even have churchgoers who are struggling to make ends meet. Without exercising critical thought, we assert and draw from all of this rubbish.

However, the founder of the Revival Assembly, Apostle Anselm Madubuko, joined the argument and criticized the naysayers. “He just told you guys what worked for him, so why the insults?” he asked. Move on, take it or leave it! There are bad hearts everywhere.

Joyful Ugbo sarcastic. She added, “Poverty people go come here now..de yarn say this money dem for usage am for de poor, meanwhile they don’t have a notion of the influence of this great men on the poor.. Many responders also felt Komaiya shouldn’t be criticized because they thought he was just expressing his experience.
