Mercy Chinwo vs. Eezeetee: A Battle Over Contracts and Control

Gospel singer Mercy Chinwo has accused her former record label boss, Ezekiel ThankGod (Eezeetee), of serious contractual and ethical breaches.

According to a statement released by her legal team, Chinwo alleges that Eezeetee:

  • Engaged in contract forgery: Replaced the original 2017 contract with a 2019 version, altering key details to appear as the initial agreement.
  • Withheld crucial documents: Denied Chinwo access to the original 2017 contract until the end of the contractual period.
  • Perpetrated emotional and verbal abuse: Subjected Chinwo to significant emotional and verbal abuse, including threats and intimidation.
  • Misappropriated funds: Misrepresented revenue streams, underreported publishing royalties, and withheld a significant portion of digital streaming income.
  • Engaged in deceptive practices: Misled the public by falsely claiming Chinwo had initiated legal action against him.

The statement details a pattern of manipulative behavior, including:

  • Withholding contract information: Refusing to provide Chinwo with a copy of the original contract despite her repeated requests.
  • Creating a toxic work environment: Engaging in verbal abuse, intimidation, and creating a hostile work environment.
  • Exploiting his position of power: Utilizing his influence to isolate and bully Chinwo.

The statement also highlights the alleged discrepancies between the original 2017 contract and the 2019 version, which significantly favored Eezeetee.

Despite these serious allegations, Chinwo has expressed a desire for an amicable resolution. However, Eezeetee has reportedly filed a lawsuit against Chinwo and fellow gospel singer Judikay.
