Oyakhilome Explains Gospel Artists’ Departure from Christ Embassy
Pastor Chris Oyakhilome, founder of Christ Embassy (Love World), has addressed the reasons behind the departure of several gospel artists from his church. In a recently circulated video, he explained that these artists prioritized worldly success and fame over their spiritual commitment.
According to Oyakhilome, the church’s atmosphere shifted from prayer and worship to entertainment. He asserted that the music became secular, with performances focused on self-promotion rather than glorifying God.
He also stated that the artists began charging for their services, essentially becoming professionals who profited from the church. While he initially supported these artists, he later felt a need to change direction, but they were unwilling to follow. He believes they were swayed by the “little money” they were earning and chose that path instead. Oyakhilome expressed his hope that they will repent and clarified that they are no longer considered worship leaders within the church.
