Following a brief illness, Pastor Mrs. Elizabeth Abosede Oyemade, wife of Bearer of Light Ministry founder Dr. Sam Oyemade, passed away recently at the age of 53. To pay their last respects to her, friends, family, and pastors from a variety of denominations—especially the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria—gathered in the YMCA Hall in Agege, Lagos, on Friday, March 7.

The service lasted for around two hours. Nonetheless, the testimonies of the late teacher of the word, who so skillfully supported her husband’s vocation, greatly consoled many. who said she was positive she had gone to be with the Lord at the funeral.

Pastor David Ikhielea, the event’s speaker, said he had the opportunity to meet the late Bible instructor around two weeks before her transition. After receiving a sumptuous reception in the family home with a handful of God’s workers, he had cause to offer prayers for her. Ikhielea said he prayed a lot and was confident she would get better, but she was approached by another pastor who asked aloud, “What happened to the prayers that we prayed, why didn’t God hear us?”

“I told the pastor that her transition was God’s own way of answering us,” Ikhielea remarked. I believe the prayer prepared her for her final sleep. After learning about her passing, I gave God the glory. The last words she uttered were “Jesus, Jesus, Jesus.” What a great means of transportation.

He underlined that believers should concentrate on staying in God’s will rather than being terrified of death. “The Lord may call us home at any time.” The onus is now on us to meet expectations. A brave fight was fought by our sister. She was a brave disciple of Christ. She’s gone to unwind.

Taking advantage of the fact that many people are playing church instead of living their lives as they were called to, Ikhielea used the occasion to caution believers against leading double lives.
