During a visit to Trinity Towers, the location of the RCCG City of David parish, Pastor Enoch Adeboye, the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), changed the RCCG Apapa Family to “The Favoured Family.”
Adeboye, who attended the event with his spouse, Pastor (Mrs.) Folu Adeboye, disclosed that he was given a divine directive to rename the prominent family inside the RCCG organization.
Pastor Adeboye said that the Apapa Family required a new outpouring of grace, represented by the introduction of salt and a new cruse, while speaking from 2 Kings 2:19–24.
Enoch Adeboye, the pastor, announced the church’s new name, “God has instructed that this family be renamed to ‘The Favoured Family.’ It is a new chapter, a fresh direction, and a renewed purpose.”
“The Lord said the Apapa Family needs a new beginning. The salt signifies the restoration of flavor, healing, and divine favor. It is time to move forward without hindrance,” he said.
As Pastor Enoch Adeboye announced the church’s new name, the congregation was ecstatic. The RCCG Apapa Family has experienced many changes over the years, with different pastors helping to foster its expansion.
