Word Assembly Ministries’ founder, Rev. Isaac Omolehin, apologizes for a statement he made about the people who attended Winners Chapel, COZA, and Christ Embassy.
Omolehin had expressed sympathy for the members of these congregations in a sermon that went viral, implying that their spiritual heritage might eventually suffer.
According to him, in part, “I pity those who attend churches like Winners, COZA and Christ Embassy… when the founders are gone, the rubbish legacy they laid is what they will be doing.”
In Christian communities, that sermon sparked intense discussion, with many wondering if his comments unjustly downplayed the significance and legacy of these organizations.
Rev. Isaac Omolehin apologized in public a few days later. As reported by Church Gist, he said;
“I don’t like the brand of Winners’ Chapel, Christ Embassy or COZA—but after reviewing the situation, I apologize.”
He chose to offer an olive branch after giving it some thought, acknowledging in this statement that his earlier remarks might have been wrong or unduly harsh.
