Transformation Today: A Daily Devotional With Victor Adeyemi
Topic: Levels of Fruitfulness
“Every branch in Me that does not bear fruit He takes away; and every branch that bears fruit He prunes, that it may bear more fruit.”
– John 15:2 (NLT)
Do you know that there are different degrees of productivity that a child of God can have? The first degree is the no-fruit degree. Any Christian that does not produce fruit is not fulfilling the will of God. God does not expect us to come to Christ and remain the same. The more the Gospel affects us, the better we ought to be.
The second degree is the Christian who bears some fruit. Such a Christian operates on a higher level of productivity than the Christian who bears no fruit at all. The third degree is the Christian who bears more fruit. God prunes every branch that bears fruit so that the branch can bear more fruit.
You cannot remain stagnant for God always expects you to do more. The good news is that we do not bear fruit of our own accord but He produces fruit in us by His Spirit. When we yield to Him and follow His instructions, we begin to operate in a grace that is beyond human effort. The more we yield to Him in faith, the more empowered we become for greater works.
As I live a yielded life, God is empowering me to bear more fruit to His glory.
