Transformation Today: A Daily Devotional With Victor Adeyemi
Topic: Think Beyond Yourself
“As each one has received a gift, minister it to one another, as good stewards of the manifold grace of God” – 1 Peter 4:10.
The gifts and the calling of God are without repentance. I do not believe there is anybody called and gifted of God, that cannot continue to walk in his gifting throughout his lifetime. There are some old men in the ministry today. We discover that they cannot do some of the things they used to do years ago anymore, yet at such ages, some are still doing their best based on their levels of strength because of responsibility and accountability to God. Indeed, every man should have a sense of responsibility and accountability.
You have got to have a sense of responsibility with regard to the seed God deposited in you. You have got to discover your seed for your own sake and for the sake of others. You have to think beyond yourself.
One reason some people do not care about using what God has put inside them is that they are always thinking of themselves but never of others. You must also realize that you are robbing your generation if you do not release that seed. That seed inside you is meant to benefit your generation.
You can rob us of the books you ought to write, the sermons you ought to preach, the albums you ought to produce, the songs you ought to sing, the beautiful ideas that could have solved the world’s problems and would leave your name written in gold in the archives of history. However, don’t you ever forget this: you will give an account of those talents someday.
With the help of the Holy Spirit, I am stirring up the gifts within me and putting them to use for God’s glory.
2 Timothy 1:6.
