Transformation Today A Daily Devotional With Victor Adeyemi
Topic: Divine Election
“Before I formed you in the womb I knew you;
Before you were born I sanctified you;
I ordained you a prophet to the nations”.
– Jeremiah 1:5
Divine election refers to God, picking us and deciding that a particular person should play a particular role.
God’s election is always based upon His grace and mercy which are unmerited. It has nothing to do with intellectual competence or how righteous we are. Divine election is not based on capabilities or qualifications.
God had made up His mind on each of us before anything was made. God concluded his plans a long time ago. Someone might say, “that man is in ministry because he went to a Christian school”. But no matter where he went or what he did, he would have ended up doing what God would have him do as long as his heart remained open to God.
Divine election is not subject to man. When God assigns a portion of his eternal purpose to a person, it cannot be canceled by anyone.
Confession: I was created and chosen by God with a special purpose in His mind. By the help of the Holy Spirit, I will fulfill His purpose and nothing will stop me.
