Transformation Today: A Daily Devotional With Victor Adeyemi
Topic: Delight Yourself in the Lord
“Delight thyself also in the Lord: and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart.” Psalm37:4, KJV
Not all desires are of God. As a result of sin, we still have desires that are not godly, even when we are born again. These desires show up in your flesh.
Psalm 37:4 says delight yourself in the Lord and He will give you the desires of your heart. To delight is to find pleasure in something. To delight yourself in God is to spend time in fellowship with God. Spend time in prayer; spend time with the word of God. When you spend more time with God, His thoughts will begin to rub-off on you.
The mind of God is found in His words. Spend time in the meditation of scriptures and you will begin to think like God. Your thoughts shape your desires. So when you delight yourself in the Lord, His desires become your desires and they are granted.
As I spend time with God in fellowship, His desires become my desires, His concerns become my concerns. My heart’s desires are being granted according to His will and purpose.
