Gary Chapman‘s Books all here for you to go and buy. American novelist, radio talk show host, and Baptist minister Gary Demonte Chapman was born on January 10, 1938. Chapman’s most well-known work is The Five Love Languages, a series about human relationships.
Chapman joined the staff of Calvary Baptist Church in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, in 1971, and he shares the responsibilities of teaching and family care.
Chapman’s “Five Love Languages” theory is perhaps his most well-known contribution. It posits that there are five “languages” via which people can express and receive love: physical touch, acts of service, receiving gifts, spending quality time with others, or affirmations. According to Chapman, even if everyone appreciates each of these languages to some degree, a person will usually speak one primary language.
Although all five are important, he argues that they can be ranked independently (after answering the love language profile questions he devised expressly for this purpose).
The first of several books that supported the aforementioned concept was The Five Love Languages: How to Express Heartfelt Commitment to Your Mate, which was first published in 1992. The book has sold more than 11 million copies in English. The 2015 edition was one of the top 50 sales on Amazon.com as of February 2007 and has been translated into 49 other languages. It also regularly ranks in the top five novels on the New York Times bestseller list, sometimes even topping the list.
