At a recent crusade in Ethiopia, Franklin Graham shared the gospel with 4,000 people who vowed to follow Jesus Christ.
Many people from far and near found God throughout the two days of outreach, making it a memorable event for the Ethiopian people.
On his eleventh trip to Ethiopia, Graham highlighted the timeless value of the gospel message his father preached decades earlier.
“My father preached the same Gospel message 65 years ago,” Graham told reporters at a press conference. “The world has changed, politics have changed, but the Gospel does not change. It’s the same yesterday, today and tomorrow.”
The Ethiopian Council of Gospel Believers’ Churches coordinated the outreach.
The council’s director of international relations, Pastor Ashebir Ketema, reaffirmed the significance of preaching freedom.
“When we see such events, that’s the hand of God to preach freely in this country; it’s because of the hand of God,” he stated.
The Billy Graham Evangelistic Association’s (BGEA) ambitious plan to spread the Good News of Jesus Christ on five continents by organizing evangelist celebrations in thousands of local churches includes the outreach to Ethiopians. As part of the collaboration, the new converts are linked to nearby Bible-believing congregations for additional discipleship.
