Pastor Adeboye Reveals Reason Behind Near-Resignation
Pastor Enoch Adejare Adeboye, General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), recently shared a candid account of a time he nearly resigned from his leadership position. He explained that thoughts of resignation arose from feeling unappreciated by his congregation for his tireless prayers and fasting on their behalf.
While grappling with this decision, Pastor Adeboye took a nap. Upon waking, he was greeted by a young girl visiting him, who presented him with a cake. This simple act of kindness deeply touched him, and he ate the cake.
Reflecting on the moment, he said, “I thought you said no one cared.” He realized that he had become so focused on seeking appreciation from people that he had overlooked the immense care and love God had for him.
Pastor Adeboye then offered advice to believers struggling with depression: “Now, when as a believer you are feeling depressed, what you need is to go deep into the presence of God because Psalm 16:11 says: Thou wilt shew me the path of life: in thy presence is fulness of joy; at thy right hand there are pleasures forevermore.”
