Deadly Church Attack: Gunmen Kill Pastor, Abduct Six in Delta
In a vicious incident that shocked the community, gunmen attacked Elyon Paradise Ministry in Ogwashi-Uku, Delta State, during a vigil on Friday, shooting the pastor and kidnapping six churchgoers.
Apostle Divine Omodia was hospitalized with gunshot wounds following the attack, which took place at the church close to Delta State Polytechnic at around ten o’clock at night.
Six churchgoers were reportedly abducted, rounded up, and taken to an unidentified location, according to a source.
They removed six churchgoers, shot the preacher, and severed his fingers.
A number of medical professionals fought to preserve the pastor’s life when he was taken to the hospital.
According to the source, “unknown gunmen have not called to demand a ransom for the release of the abducted victims until today, Sunday.” SP Bright Edafe, the State Command’s Police Public Relations Officer, confirmed the incident on Sunday, saying, “Yes, it is confirmed. The incident was reported on Saturday evening. A rescue team is currently in the bush tracking the suspects.”
