The transition of artists from Nigerian celebrities to gospel preachers is not shocking.
Many entertainers, including singers, comedians, actors, and public figures, have fulfilled their “ministerial calling” and greatly improved people’s lives via their virtuous work.
The league of Nigerian celebrities who skillfully combine their jobs as preachers and entertainers is likewise noteworthy.
A few Nigerian celebrities who are now pastors are examined in this article.
1. Zack Orji
Zack Orji is an actor, producer, director, and filmmaker from Nigeria. He gained notoriety in the 1991 film “Unforgiven Sin.” He served as the Actors Guild of Nigeria’s (AGN) previous president. Zack is well-known for playing a pastor in Nollywood films. Not surprisingly, he eventually received his ordination at Christian Central Chapel International (CCCI) as a full-time evangelist. He is currently actively involved in evangelical endeavors in Nigeria.
2. Kanayo O. Kanayo
Kanayo Modestus Onyekwere, often known as Kanayo O. Kanayo, is a well-known star who transitioned from performing to preaching.

In Egbeda, Lagos State, Kanayo O. Kanayo has been spotted preaching the gospel at Christ Mission Worldwide Church.
3. Eucheria Anunobi
Eucheria Anunobi, who is well-known for her elegant performance in the film Glamour Girls and Abuja Connection, shocked moviegoers by giving her life to Christ. She claimed that despite being a pastor, she still accepts “promiscuous” film parts.
On February 5, 2012, the Nigerian film producer and actress received her ordination as an evangelist.
Pastor Psalm Okpe ordained her at the Fresh Oil Ministry Church in Egbeda, Lagos State. Eucheria travels the world teaching the word of God and counseling young people in the church.
4. Jimmy Odukoya
The senior pastor of the Fountain of Life Church in Ilupeju, Lagos, is actor Jimmy Odukoya.

5. Patience Ozokwor
Patience Ozokwor is a seasoned gospel singer and Nollywood actor. Although she is well-known for playing a nasty mother-in-law and a cruel stepmother in Nollywood films, she has been increasingly outspoken about her faith in Christ in recent years. She underlined in a 2019 interview that films have a worldwide audience, just like sermons.
She also appeared to be serving as a priest at St. Peter’s Anglican Church in Alaba, Lagos State, in 2019. She has also disregarded the distinction between acting and ministry and spoken about her own life and encounters with Jesus Christ.
6. Banky W
One well-known musician and actor from Nigeria is Bankole Wellington. Starting in 2020, Banky W transitioned into full-time ministry at Tony Rapu’s “This Present House Church.” His social media accounts, particularly Instagram, highlight both his musical abilities and his stirring sermons, which he has given to sizable crowds.
Along with his pastoral responsibilities and inspirational/motivating lectures, Banky also recorded an album and worked with well-known music minister Mercy Chinwo on a gospel song.
