Adeboye: My Close Brush With Death 7 Years Ago

When Pastor Enoch Adeboye began his ministry by reliving his near-death experience seven years prior, the Special Holy Ghost service of the Redeemed Christian Church of God took a new turn in the early hours of March 8.

He claims that the incident took place during one of the church’s go-a-fishing events that year.

He claimed that after the show, he was so worn out that he realized his body could not support him any longer. I was on the verge of death and was unable to raise my body. “The devil believed he had me,” he said.

He claimed that plans were swiftly made to get him from Ilesha, Osun State, where he was confined to the hospital bed, to the Redemption Camp in order to protect him from the unexpected.

However, he was unable to travel by road. “To get me back to camp, they had to chatter a helicopter,” he claimed. I would have perished if I had traveled by road.

Another issue was getting the helicopter to take off. The helicopter refused to take off, according to some local youngsters. They tried to halt the aircraft while clinging to it.

However, I made it to the camp somehow. I was promised that I would get better if I could only make it to camp.

His wish was fulfilled by God:

He asked his audience to thank God on his behalf for saving his life and stated that the Lord had kept him well for seven years following that incident.

I want you to give thanks to God that I was spared. Praise him. Honor him. Give thanks to God for sparing your life as well. Adeboye begged.

His advice

Pastor Adeboye did not preach much throughout the program, which had the theme Joy Unspeakable. Instead, he prayed for his audience and assured them that tomorrow would be OK as he made a number of declarations.

He then offered some advice, advising them against selling their salvation, “When David fell his cry was that God would restore to him the joy of his salvation. So don’t sell your salvation.”

Once more, he stated, “Don’t leave his presence. In his presence there is fullness of joy.”

Lastly, he exhorted the crowd to develop a soul-winning addiction. “You can’t give joy to others and lack joy.”
