After retiring from Bishop David Oyedepo’s Living Faith congregation, popularly known as Winners Chapel, Bishop David Abioye started a new congregation.
Following a policy review that determined that leaders must retire at age 55, Abioye, a former Winners Chapel vice president, and Thomas Aremu retired in October 2024. Abioye was sixty-three and Aremu was sixty-seven when they retired.
Abioye declared on Monday night that he would start Sunday morning services on May 4, 2025, on his official X account.
“Exciting news! By the grace of God, starting next Sunday, our service is moving to the morning — 8:00AM.
It’s a new day for you — come ready to be blessed mightily in Jesus’ name,” he posted.
“Mark your calendars, set your alarms — we can’t wait to see you there! Tag someone you’re inviting!”
Abioye had first started a non-denominational ministry that hosted Sunday evening services when he retired. The ministry will now switch to Sunday morning services at 8 a.m., he revealed on April 27.
“Very important information. From next Sunday by the grace of God, our service is migrating to morning. Hallelujah. And the time is 8am. God bless you mightily in Jesus’ name,” he wrote.
