BACKGROUND

Pastor Benny Hinn Biography On December 3, 1952, Toufik Benedictus “Benny” Hinn was born in the port city of Jaffa, Israel (now a suburb of Tel Aviv), to an immigrant family who had traveled from Greece to Palestine. He grew up in an Eastern Orthodox household.

Soon after the six-day conflict in 1998, he and his family relocated to Canada, where he attended Georges Vanier Secondary School. even if he never received his diploma. When he gives his heart and soul to Jesus in 1972 as a teenager after a classmate prays with him, his life takes a significant turn for the better. Shortly later, he had a call to share the gospel.

Hinn became a Pentecostal as a teenager in Toronto, where he later joined a singing group of young evangelicals after converting from Greek Orthodoxy.

According to a 2004 CBC story on Hinn, his family started to worry about his extreme devotion to the newest faith that was making him a religious fanatic.

Dr. Winston I. Nunes of the Toronto-based Broadview Faith Temple was Benny Hinn’s mentor and teacher.

His writings state that he took a charter bus from Toronto to Pittsburgh on December 21, 1973, to attend a “miracle service” led by evangelist Kathryn Kuhlman.

Despite never having met her, he frequently attended her “healing services” and has frequently acknowledged her effect on his life.

He also mentioned his busy schedule and lack of time for his wife and children.

Hinn declared in October 2012 that he and his wife, Suzanne, were getting married again. On March 3, 2013, they were remarried in the Holy Land Experience theme park. The remarriage was described as “a miracle of God’s grace” by Pastor Jack Hayford.

MINISTRY

Young Benny saw people plunging into a blazing inferno in April 1074 and heard the following words:

“If you do not preach, every soul who falls will be your responsibility!”

It may be argued that his stuttering speech caused his holding back. However, on December 7, 1974, just four days after turning 22, Benny Hinn stood in front of the pulpit to deliver a sermon, and something amazing occurred—his stuttering issue vanished out of nowhere. After that, he became bold in carrying out the Great Commission.

LESSONS FROM HIS LIFE

Benny Hinn’s ministry is thriving, and God has been using His servant to show His might at every gathering or crusade. A significant life lesson from Benny Hinn is the importance of marriage. If not for the intervention of God, the marriage would have fallen apart.

We have to understand that marriage and ministry have their proper roles. For married clergy members, you must prioritize your marriage over your vocations and give it careful consideration. Make time for your spouse and kids and let them know how much they matter to you; don’t let your hectic schedule prevent you from doing this.

God is not going to make time for you to love your spouse; you have to make the time. May God save failing marriages and comfort the bereaved. Continue to be fortunate.
