Bishop Wale Oke, President of the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria, has stated that church leaders who preach messages that do not align with the body’s commonly recognized teachings will not be able to continue their business as normal in the days ahead.

He announced this at the fellowship’s inaugural press conference following his reelection to a second term in office.

Oke, who attended the conference with the fellowship’s executive members, stated that the PFN is aware of preachers who are spreading ideas that are against the Bible and that the organization will eventually take a position on them while cautioning the public to avoid them.

“We are aware of the odd messages that some pastors are preaching online,” he stated. We know people who make doctrinal mistakes. We will take a stand on these preachers as part of the PFN revalidation process, which is about to start. In order to preserve our fellowship’s reputation, we will take action against them.

Additionally, Oke took use of the conference to criticize the attitude of several northern governors toward education.

He characterized some northern governors’ choice to close schools during Ramadan as anti-progress.

“The protection of our country is largely dependent on the education of our children. The idea of closing schools for religious holidays is counterproductive to our country’s development. Those who brought the faith to us in Nigeria would not close their classrooms for the sake of fasting. We should not be more Catholic than the pope” he urged.

Bishop Oke then asked the governors to change their minds, saying, “It is regrettable that this is taking place. We pray that God would grant them the discernment to act morally.

Bishop Oke and executive members refuted claims earlier in the press conference that their first time in office was lacking in accomplishments.

While acknowledging that Bishop’s reelection was a testament to his performance, they insisted that the PFN took all necessary steps to maintain the fellowship.

According to him, the PFN is a spiritual organization that God has blessed and that, because of its size and power, has gained political significance. “PFN is strong, organized and properly structured.” He said.

He expressed regret over the last election of the officers of the PFN which became a subject of media speculations.

Oke said, “In the 40 years of existence of PFN this has never been so, and it gave us grave concern as a body.”

He commended the PFN’s founding fathers and National Advisory Council members for handling the election’s concerns in a responsible manner.

We are a group of distinguished, disciplined, and spiritually mature individuals. Press wars are not what we engage in. We battle on our knees before God, and as our God is always victorious, we always win and are blessed. “Bishop Oke said.”

During his second term in office, Oke stated that he will work to bring the PFN together and vigorously achieve the founding fathers’ agenda.

In addition to expressing gratitude to the executive’s first-term staff, he promised that “We shall all work together, irrespective of the tribe, race, region or zone that any of us may come from in Nigeria.”

“We shall respect our founding fathers and steadfastly uphold the moral principles and principles found in the Bible. Every state in the federation and every level of our organization will have its doors purposefully opened to welcome the next generation of spiritual leaders.”

He pledged to use the spiritual gifts that God has given the PFN to Nigerian national life, saying, “We will pray for, work for, and contribute to our nation’s economic prosperity.” By God’s grace, Nigeria will experience tremendous prosperity. Our primary goal will be to pursue the mission of Christ, which is to “go into all the world and make disciples of all nations,” with godly wisdom and fervor.

He promised Nigerian leaders that PFN would work with them to create a rich, united nation “where no man is oppressed.”

“We will pray, speak, and work against all vices, crimes, violence, and evils in our society, asking the Lord to eliminate them from our nation, so we may all live “a calm and peaceable life in all Godliness and honesty” as directed in the Scriptures.”
