FRED HAMMOND BIOGRAPHY
Frederick William Hammond is a Gospel music minister, bass guitar player, and record producer. He is well known as one of the big figures in contemporary gospel music. He is popular in different styles of music such as R&B, hip-hop, and disco.
EARLY LIFE AND BACKGROUND
He was born on the 27th of December, 1960 in Detroit, Michigan, US.
MUSIC MINISTRY
Hammond has been a strong performer of the group commissioned and as a solo artist (presently for Verity Records). He has multiple Grammy Awards, Dove Awards, Stellar awards, and nominees as a performer, producer, and writer.
He gained popularity firstly while paling bass guitar for the gospel group The Winans. Hammond was one of the six members of the group commissioned in 1985 and he participated in 10 of the group’s 12 albums.
He still stayed relevant in the Gospel music industry even after he left the Commissioned group. He sold millions of albums with the musical group Radical For Christ.
Hammond returned to the group Commissioned in 2002 to produce the Commissioned Reunion Live album with members like Keith Staten, Marvin Sapp, Mitchell Jones, Karl Reid, and Marcus Cole.
He produced “Make Me Like The Moon” with Chanté Moore and Kenny Lattimore.
