Good Governance Pledge: Fubara Thanks Church for Spiritual Support

“Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara has expressed deep appreciation for the support of the Anglican Church, emphasizing its crucial role in his administration. He has further pledged his unwavering commitment to upholding good governance throughout his tenure. This acknowledgment and promise were made during a significant courtesy visit.”

“The visit occurred at the Government House in Port Harcourt, where Governor Fubara received a delegation of Anglican Archbishops. This delegation was led by the Primate, Archbishop Metropolitan of All Nigeria, Church of Nigeria Anglican Communion, Most Reverend Henry Chukwudum Ndukuba. The governor’s sentiments were then conveyed to the public through a statement issued by his Chief Press Secretary, Nelson Chukwudi.”

“In his remarks, Governor Fubara attributed the success of his governance to the spiritual support provided by the church. He specifically highlighted the impact of their ‘quiet prayers and fasting.’ He emphasized that his administration’s style is one of ‘governance of peace,’ characterized by openness, humility, and a willingness to acknowledge and rectify errors. He stated that the prayers of the church provide direction and wisdom for his administration.”

“Furthermore, Governor Fubara reinforced his belief in the supremacy of God, asserting that nothing occurs without divine approval. He assured the public that his administration would remain steadfast in its adherence to the fear of God. This commitment is intended to prevent the government from straying onto paths that could lead to its destruction.”
