KIM BURRELL BIOGRAPHY

Kimberly Burrell is an American Gospel music minister from Houston, Texas, US.

EARLY LIFE AND BACKGROUND

Burrell was born on the 26th of August, 1972 in Houston, Texas, United States. She is the daughter of a Gospel minister in the Church of God in Christ (COGIC). Her early performance started with Rev. James Cleveland GMWA Youth Choir.

MUSIC MINISTRY

She also performed alongside Trinity Temple Full Gospel Mass Choir of Dallas and The Inspirational Sounds Mass Choir of Houston.

Burrell featured in the song “Jesus Paid It All” released in 1996 on Ricky Dillard and New G’s album titled “Worked It Out”. In 1995, Burrell dropped her first album titled “Try Me Again” via the Texas-based boutique label Pearl Records.

The album projected her status and was signed by Tommy Boy Gospel. She dropped another album titled “Everlasting Life” in 1999 which was produced by Asaph Alexander Ward. The song was charted No 10 at the Billboard Gospel Charts.

She recorded Live In Concert, an album that was recorded live at the annual Church of God in Christ Convention in Memphis, Tennessee, and was released in 2001. In the year 2002, the album was nominated for a Grammy Award for Best Soul Gospel Album.

The record label that signed her closed in 2002 shortly after she released her live album. Burrell entered a recording contract with Elektra Records.

She was a guest performer alongside Kelly Price on R. Kell’s “3-Way Phone Call” in 2004 featured as Price’s “prayer partner”. Burrell dropped her first studio over 11 years “No Ways Tired” on 7th April 2009 via Shanachie Records.

The album consists of my powerful singles like “My Faith Looks Up To Thee”, “What A Friend We Have In Jesus”, and “I Surrender All”.

CONTROVERSIES

She was showing in a video showing her preaching against homosexual acts at Love & Liberty Fellowship Church in December 2016 and called those that practice it perverted.

Also in 2017, she gave a warning that those that practice homosexual sin would die from it. while responding to the criticism of her sermon, she said she didn’t regret or felt sorry for the sermon and that she love God.

After the sermon, most of the music appearance that she should have made was canceled such as The Ellen DeGeneres Show and BMI Trailblazers of Gospel Music event.
