Jeremiah 15:16 “Your words were found, and I ate them; your words were to me a joy and the delight of my heart, for I am called by your name, O LORD, God of hosts.” Scripture is full of examples that show our weakness and God’s constant love. Scripture has everything that we need to know and to go after a wholehearted, unmasked relationship with God.

I fear that many Christians today are missing the point of the Scripture. God is not the Bible. It is meant to be a manual to understanding the author. We want to stir up our curiosity and understanding of this living, acting, near-to-us God.

God has always desired to restore a relationship with his people. His aim is our hearts. In addition, his words work well to serve his purposes. Psalm 1:1-3 says in the Bible,
Blessed is the man who walks not in the counsel of the wicked, nor stands in the way of sinners, nor sits in the seat of scoffers; but his delight is in the law of the Lord, and on his law he meditates day and night. He is like a tree planted by streams of water that yields its fruit in its season, and its leaf does not wither. In all that he does, he prospers.
The Lord wants to plant us in the streams of His presence. He wants us to be people who regularly and deliberately know his boundless love. He desires for us to consider his rules so that we can walk in his will and be blessed in anything we do. He wants us to know his love through his Word and Spirit so that we may live truly abundant lives, lives of his unfailing faithfulness.
As the beloved children of the Most High God, let us pursue all that Scripture has to offer. May we learn to know Him in our hearts as His word takes us into more regular, real and meaningful dealings with our Father. May we be a people full of stories of God’s redemptive love in response to the unswerving, dynamic character of our heavenly Father.
