Topic: The Viability of Setting Goals!!!
Due to popular demand, I have decided to share this with every addicted learner.
Goals are the fuel in the furnace of achievement. It has to do with proper preparations that ultimately lead to excellent performance.
It is directly related to a dream. It determines the extent to which you will go in life. People who are doing quite well in life set realistic goals for themselves.
Your finishing strong is dependent on the kind of goals you set for yourself. If you set goals that are realistically inclined, there is 80% assurance that you’ll actualize it if you stay committed to its course.
No one makes any significant success in life, ministry, and career without realistically prioritizing what he wants from life.
It’s not enough to set goals, you need to understand adequately the rationale behind the goals you are setting.
As a matter of fact, if you are not clear on your goals and you still move ahead to set them, you are simply building castles in the air.
It is important to know that there is no magic in life, everything is based on understanding your place and position in the pursuit of destiny.
Whatever you cannot successfully defend is a waste of time and resources.
Most of the goals people set nowadays are defenseless, they lack substance, value, structure, and sustainability.
If you ask some folks their reasons for setting goals, you will be disappointed at their response. This is the more reason why businesses do not stand the test of time.
As long as a business(es) lacks the technical know-how, organizational structure, and most importantly, direction and bearing, it’s a matter of time, such business(es) will soon be out of operation.
You cannot be jumping from one goal to the next and expect the best of results to happen. All that glitters isn’t gold, appearance isn’t and can never be a reality.
In the same vein, if you cannot explain in few words why you are passionate about the business you do or the goals you are setting, time is a revealer, you’ll soon fizzle out of that business and your undefined goals will make no difference in your life and the world as a whole.
Only realistic goals make headway in life, every other goal is simply trial and error, and research has shown that assumption is the lowest level of knowledge, at the same time, it is deadly.
Before you finally come to the conclusion of setting goals, do well to ask yourself some of these deep-seated and rooted family questions.
They will provide a template for your certainty. In addition, they will help you in your decision-making process.
They will help in preparing and positioning you better for a life of meaning and purpose.
✔ Is there a foundational framework for the goals I’m setting? What’s the basis for this goal?
✔ Does it align with my dream and purpose in life?
✔ What blueprint do I have or have I put in place to realize these goals?
✔ Does this thing has the capacity to boost my mental consciousness and take me further into destiny?
✔ Is God actually and truly involved in my goal-setting strategies?
These questions are critical, fundamental and of course, demand some level of sober philosophizing and reflection.
Goals set without an undertone of proffering solutions to problems is an effort in futility.
Every noble, viable and realistic goal is expected to be tailored and geared towards solving simple and complex problems.
If you set goals primarily for the benefit of yourself alone, the likelihood or probability of global distinction is slim and minimal.
To this end, here are a few things that must be done to accomplish every set goal;
✔ Do ensure your goals are well defined and properly spelled and written out.
✔ Work within the confine of what you know you can deliver in a short while.
✔ Be ready to go the extra mile in the fulfillment of your goals. Draw up strategies for meeting them.
✔ From time to time, examine and reexamine if you are still on track or not.
✔ Trust God absolutely to see you through the process.
Ponder Point: Don’t keep setting goals daily, monthly, and yearly, focus on the ones you have set, and ensure you put in the right strength and resources to see it come to actualization.
