Pastor Bolaji Idowu: Avoid Dating While Unemployed

Pastor-Bolaji-Idowu-300x168 Pastor Bolaji Idowu: Avoid Dating While Unemployed

The lead pastor of Harvesters International Christian Center, Bolaji Idowu, has sparked debate with his recent warning against dating while unemployed.

Pursuing relationships without financial security can result in needless stress and hassles, claims Pastor Idowu.

He underlined that a lot of relationships that are created during difficult times are motivated more by need or hunger than by true love.

According to him; “Don’t date when you are jobless. There are some relationships that are attractive not because they are attractive, it’s because you have no money.

“When you have your own money, you will be surprised how you should have not fallen in love with some people. It’s not love induced; it was hunger induced. Never negotiate on a hungry stomach, you will get a bad deal.”

The pastor also referred to this as the “crumbs mentality” and cautioned against settling for less because of poverty.

He added; “I hang around people and when I hear the things that they used to talk about – ‘if I can just travel to America’. How can traveling to America be a goal?”

Some people have found resonance in the pastor’s remarks, as they concur that having financial stability is crucial to establishing solid relationships. However, some contend that a person’s work status shouldn’t determine their value or level of romantic readiness.
