Tunde Bakare is a Nigerian pastor and preacher of the word of God. He was a pastor at the Deeper Life Bible Church and later joined the Redeemed Christian Church of God after which he left to start his own.
According to The Guardian Newspaper, he was regarded as one of the most politically influential pastors in Nigeria and he was a running mate of the Nigerian presidential candidate Muhammadu Buhari in the year 2011 Nigerian Presidential Election.
EARLY LIFE AND BACKGROUND
Tunde Bakare was born on the 11th November 1954 and was reported to be born into a Muslim family before he later converted to Christianity in the year 1974.
He went to All Saints Primary School, Kemta, Abeokuta for his primary education, and Lisabi Grammar School, Abeokuta for his secondary. Tunde attended the University of Lagos between 1977 and 1980 to study Law.
In the year 1981, he was called to bar and after his NYSC, he practiced with the famous Gani Fawehinmi Chambers, Rotimi Williams & Co., and Burke & Co. Solicitors.
He started his own law firm in 1984 as Tunde Bakare & Co.
Tunde Bakare was called into ministry in May 1988 at the citadel of his legal career and the ministry was named The Latter Rain Assembly (End-Time Church) now known as The Citadel Global Community Church (CGCC) on April 1st, 1989.
He is currently the overseer of the church and he also presides over Global Apostolic Impact Network (GAIN). He is the president of the Latter Rain Ministries, Inc., Atlanta, GA, USA.
Tunde Bakare was given a Doctor of Ministry degree by the Indiana Christian University under the radar of his mentor Dr. Lester Sumrall in the year 1996.

He has never reserved about his intention of becoming a president and he reiterated this in 2019 when he said “I will succeed Buhari as President of Nigeria, nothing can change it. I am number 16, Buhari is number 15. I never said it to you before. I am saying it now and nothing can change it. In the name of Jesus, he (Buhari) is number 15. I am number 16. To this end was I born and for this purpose came I into the world. I have prepared you for this for more than 30 years”.
