Pope Leo XIV’s brother was invited to the White House by US President Donald Trump.
The president’s personal assistant and communications adviser, Margo Martin, posted a picture of Lou Prevost and his wife, Deborah, in the Oval Office with Trump and Vice President JD Vance.
“I look forward to getting him to the White House,” Trump added. “I want to shake his hand. I want to give him a big hug.”
After considering his choice to distribute the message, Prevost said to Morgan, “I wouldn’t have posted it if I didn’t kind of believe it.”
“I had no idea that what was coming … this soon, and I can tell you since then, I’ve been very quiet, biting my tongue at some of the stuff that is out there on social media.”
The meeting has generated a lot of debate, with many people doubting the veracity of the visitor’s assertions and the purpose of the visit.
