WILLIAM MCDOWELL BIOGRAPHY
William David McDowell is an American Gospel artist, and songwriter. He released his first music in the year 2009 with the title “As We Worship”. The album was ranked on three Billboard charts namely: Gospel Albums, Independent Albums, and Heatseekers Albums.
EARLY LIFE AND BACKGROUND
He was born on the 31st of August 1976 in Cincinnati, Ohio to Lewis (father) and Pauline (mother). His parents were born in North Carolina. He received a degree in Entertainment Business from Full Sail University, Orlando, Florida.
William McDowell was mentored by Ron Kenoly and after college, he later submitted to the mentorship of Sam Hinn. Ron Kenoly was his Music Director and Sam Hinn was the Worship Pastor at The Gathering Place Church.
MUSIC MINISTRY
He started his music career in 2009 with the release of the album “As We Worship” on February 3, 2009, by Entertainment One Music. The album was ranked on three Billboard charts namely: Gospel Albums at No. 3, Independent Albums at No. 21, and Heatseekers Albums at No. 32.
The album was rated three stars on behalf of AllMusic by William Ruhlmann and Cross Rhythms’ Doug Hollad rated it a perfect ten.
On November 8, 2011, he released his second album titled “Arise” by Entertainment One Music. It was rated on Billboard 200 at No. 61, on the Gospel Albums at No. 1, and on the Independent Albums at No. 13. It was rated three and a half by Steve Leggett from AllMusic.
William McDowell released his third album titled “Withholding Nothing” was released on 5th November 2013 by Entertainment One. It was charted on Billboard 200 at No. 28 on the Gospel Albums at No. 1, and on the Independent Albums at No. 4. It was rated three stars by Steve Leggett at AllMusic.
The third album was nominated for Grammy Award for Best Gospel Album at the 57th Annual Grammy Awards. At the 30th Stellar Awards for Traditional CD of the year, William McDowell was nominated. He released his fourth album on the 22nd of January 2016 from Entertainment One Music titled “Sounds Of Revival”.

He got married to LaTae in May 2010 and the couple is blessed with children. He and his family live outside of Orlando, Florida and he pastors at Deeper Fellowship Church, Orlando, Florida.
