Following a shootout, an American pastor who was kidnapped at gunpoint during a sermon in South Africa last week is free.
The pastor was reportedly released following a spectacular police operation that resulted in the deaths of three suspects.
Josh Sullivan, the pastor, was reportedly abducted by armed men who attacked the Fellowship Baptist Church while he was preaching.
As they got closer, the suspects opened fire on the officers and attempted to escape in a car, according to the police.
Sullivan was retrieved from the same car, amazingly unscathed, while the other three suspects were killed in the ensuing gunfight.
Sullivan is presently being monitored by medical professionals and should soon be reunited with his family.
According to his own website, the pastor and his family traveled from Tennessee to South Africa in November 2018.
