Catholic-240x300 Ivory Coast: 60,000 Young Catholics Pray to Become "Builders of Peace"

More than 60,000 young Catholics come together in Ivory Coast to pray and consider their role as “builders of peace” in a potent demonstration of faith and dedication to peace.

The event, which was held in a crowded stadium, was evidence of the vigor and commitment of youth in fostering harmony and understanding.

“To Be Builders of Peace,” the event’s theme, acted as a call to action for the young Catholics to actively promote concord in their neighborhoods.

Over 60,000 young Catholics attended the spiritual event in the Alassane Ouattara Olympic Stadium in Ebimpé, where Fr. Norbert-Éric Abékan spoke, “Be agents of peace. If you were at war, do you think we could be gathered here today? Peace is precious, and we must do everything to ensure it reigns around us.”

The participants aimed to enhance their comprehension of their faith and its relationship to fostering peace through prayer, music, and introspection.

The event in Ivory Coast serves as a reminder of the vital role that youth play in fostering harmony and peace. Events like these serve as a reminder of the strength of faith and community in promoting positive change in the face of the world’s ongoing problems.
