Pastor Adeboye, the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), has warned Christians against pursuing fortune at the expense of their spiritual health.
Adeboye called such endeavors “an act of stupidity” while speaking at the church’s 73rd annual convention, which is now taking place at Redemption City, Km 46 Lagos Ibadan Expressway, Ogun State, with the subject “The Overcomers.”
According to him, if Christians want to live victorious lives in Christ, they must uphold spiritual discipline and withstand worldly temptations.
Although Adeboye stated that God does not detest pleasure, he did point out that people’s bodies will eventually die.
The body does not want believers to be overcomers, he added, so Christians should take care of the spirit that will go to heaven.
