Otabil’s spiritual journey began with his mother at St. Alban’s Anglican Church and continued at the Assemblies of God Church. He later joined the Power House Fellowship in Tema. In the late 1970s, he moved to Accra and joined the Kanda fellowship.

On February 26, 1984, Otabil embarked on a significant chapter in his life by founding the International Central Gospel Church (ICGC) in Kanda. Starting with a small gathering at the Kanda Cluster of Schools, ICGC has grown into a global network with a significant presence in Ghana, Europe, the United States, Canada, and other parts of Africa. Today, he serves as the General Overseer of the church and Senior Pastor of Christ Temple in Accra.

Otabil’s vision extends beyond religious leadership. He is the founder and Chancellor of Central University College, a leading institution of higher learning in Ghana, contributing significantly to the country’s educational landscape.
