Pope Francis is still in the hospital in critical condition due to pneumonia

Pope Francis is still in critical but stable health after spending 12 days in the hospital due to pneumonia and other illnesses.

After having trouble breathing, Francis was brought to Gemelli Hospital in Rome on February 14. He was found to have a respiratory tract infection, pneumonia in both lungs, and mild kidney failure.

The Pope is receiving treatment for double pneumonia at the moment. The Pope’s condition is serious, although he has made some progress, according to a statement released Monday night.

The clinical state of the Holy Father is stable yet nonetheless critical. Hemodynamic values are constant, and there have been no acute respiratory episodes.

He had a planned CT scan in the evening to track the bilateral pneumonia radiologically. The outlook is still guarded.

“After receiving the Eucharist in the morning, he went back to work,” the vatican said.

Rumors that Pope Francis will be leaving his job have also been denied by the Vatican.

The Vatican secretary, Cardinal Pietro Parolin, stated, “I think it is quite normal in these situations for unverified rumors to circulate or for misplaced comments to be made, and this is certainly not the first time.”

“But I don’t think there is any specific movement in this area, and I haven’t heard anything like that up to this point.”
