Pastor Idowu Iluyomade, the founder of Family Fellowship and the former pastor of the City of David branch of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, has emphasized the need of business leaders adopting the Jesus model in their day-to-day interactions in the marketplace.
He provided the advice at the Family Fellowship service on Sunday, March 9, which was hosted at the Oriental Hotel on Victoria Island in Lagos.
Since the start of the week, snippets of the message have been posted on his Facebook wall nonstop. His social media profile has grown as a result of this.
Posts under the heading “word capsules for the marketplace stakeholders” are mentioned.
One of the posts says, “You must first know your purpose if you want to influence the marketplace for the Kingdom.” The ultimate Kingdom influencer, Jesus Christ, interacted with stakeholders and showed leadership wisdom from above. Follow His teachings: learn, develop, and walk in accordance with His will.
In another post, he wrote, still addressing shareholders in the marketplace, ‘True leadership goes beyond success—it mirrors the example of Jesus Christ. His influence remains unmatched, not because He authored books, but because His words and actions continue to shape generations.
Learn from His life to lead with effect. Knowing your purpose is essential to succeeding in the marketplace, just as Jesus recognized His. If you live by His teachings, your impact will last forever.
“Become a marketplace apostle by equipping yourself with knowledge and excellence,” says another passage from the message. According to the Bible, we should “study to show ourselves approved.” (2 Timothy 2:15)
Make an investment in your own growth, read widely, absorb knowledge from brilliant people, and hone your abilities. Ecclesiastes 10:10 informs us that “skill will bring success, but more strength is needed if the ax is dull and its edge is unsharpened.”
Develop your knowledge, become an expert in your subject, and lead with distinction!
On Sunday, March 16, a follow-up meeting titled Stakeholders in the Market will take place at the same location.
Iluyomade wrote, “Your business is your pulpit, your platform for impact and influence, and it’s more than just a career. Boldly pursue your vocation, live out the values of the kingdom, and revolutionize your industry with distinction and direction.
