Samson Uche Mogekwu popularly known as Samsong is a Nigerian Gospel artist, and songwriter based in Abuja, Nigeria.
EARLY AND BACKGROUND
Samsong was born on the 30th November 1974 in Delta State, Nigeria. He had his primary and secondary education in Warri, Delta State, Nigeria. He proceeded afterward to obtain a Bachelor’s degree in Accountancy from Ambrose Alli University, Ekpoma, Edo State.
After graduating, he focused on Gospel songs and he has become one of the well-known talented Nigerian Gospel artists across the globe ever since.
Samsong has released a lot of songs that hit the music industry and earned him top-rated awards and many recognitions. He was nicknamed Samsong during his secondary school days.
Samsong formed a quartet called Praise Creation in 1991 that was later signed to Ivory Music Label. They released a debut album in 1996 titled “Best of Life”.
He released a solo debut album CD in 2002 titled “Count Your Blessings” after the Gospel group (Praise Creation) was disbanded. The song was commended as one of the best hits at the time in the country and it ultimately won him “The Psalmist Awards” the same year.
He has performed alongside big and successful Gospel artists like Panam Percy Paul and Donell Jones.

- 2005 Best Male Vocalist of The Year at The Amen Awards
