Rick-Joyner-Biography-300x300 Biography of Rick Joyner

American novelist and public speaker Rick Joyner was born in 1949. In 1985, he and his spouse started MorningStar Ministries.

Ministry

Joyner was raised in Richmond, Virginia, after being born in Raleigh, North Carolina. In 1985, he and his spouse, Julie, established MorningStar Ministries in Jackson, Mississippi.

Joyner was president of MorningStar Publications, based in Charlotte, North Carolina, by the middle of the 1990s.

By 1994, Joyner was mentioned in the press for his involvement in plans to construct a biblical theme park, specifically with Reggie White, who had failed to acquire the Heritage USA theme park property.

Every year, the ministry organizes several conferences that draw Christians from all around the nation and the world.

Joyner relocated MorningStar’s headquarters from Charlotte to Wilkes County, North Carolina, in 1997 after purchasing 320 acres of land close to Moravian Falls.

For $1.6 million, MorningStar acquired a portion of the Heritage USA property in Fort Mill, South Carolina, which was first founded by Jim Bakker and PTL. Heritage International Ministries Conference Center is the new name for the complex. In the same property, Joyner also advertises the Kingdom Business Association.

In 2009, MorningStar Missions and Christ’s Mandate for Missions (CMM) united.

Leadership

Since publishing The Harvest in 1989, in which he foresaw the emergence of a prophetic movement and a distinct apostolic movement, Joyner has been a prominent figure in the Apostolic-Prophetic Movement and a supporter of the Fivefold ministry. Joyner was a member of the all-male international advisors-at-large for the evangelical Christian women’s group Aglow International in the mid-1990s.

In addition, Joyner founded the Oak Initiative and serves as its president. They are a non-profit organization for Christians who want “to unite, mobilize, equip, and activate Christians to be the salt and light they are called to be by engaging in the great issues of our time from a sound biblical worldview.”
