John Hagee Biography – John Charles Hagee is an American pastor and tele evangelist born on April 12, 1940. He is the founder and senior pastor of John Hagee Ministries. The ministry is being telecast to the United States and Canada.
John Hagee is the founder and chairman of the Christian Zionist organization Christians United for Israel.
Early Life
He was born in Baytown, Texas. The son of Matt Hagee, a pastor. He got a BSc from Trinity University and an MSc in mechanical engineering from the University of North Texas.
Career
John Hagee is a founder of a number of churches in San Antonio, Texas since 1966, and each of the churches developed more than its building, which led to him forming the Cornerstone Church in 1987. At the beginning of 1981 in San Antonio, following Operation Opera, Hagee organized “A Night to Honor Israel” events that focused on supporting the state of Israel.
He has been active politically and in the year 1968, he validated Democrat George Wallace in his attempt for president. His validation involved organizing and mobilizing a youth movement called “Wallace Youth”.
He alongside close to 400 leaders from across the Christian and Jewish communities on February 7, 2006, formed Christians United for Israel (CUFI).
He validated Senator John McCain in the presidential race against Barack Obama in 2008. Senator McCain cut ties with Hagee publicly over the statements made by Hagee that were viewed by many as anti-Catholic and antisemitic.
He was the main funding source for the Israeli Zionist group Im Tirtzu till 2013 when he cut ties with the organization. He is against abortion and he stopped donating money to Israel’s Hadassah Medical Center when it began the abortion procedure.
He endorsed Donald Trump in the 2016 presidential race.
