MATTHEW ASHIMOLOWO BIOGRAPHY
Matthew Ashimolowo Biography – Matthew Ashimolowo is a Nigerian Clergyman and the senior pastor of Kingsway International Christian Centre (KICC) in London. Ashimolowo was born on March 17, 1952.
EARLY LIFE AND BACKGROUND
Matthew Ashimolowo was born at the Military Depot in the Military Hospital Zaria, Kaduna State, Nigeria. He had an Islamic background (father – Salau Ashimolowo and mother – Aishat Ashimolowo) and he converted to Christianity at the age of 20 after the death of his father.
He spent most of his time in the barracks in Zaria until he moved to Ibadan in 1966. According to what he said, while growing up, his father was a gambling addict and that makes him gamble all his earnings from the military. His mother went through post-natal depression after the 2nd child and she never recovered from it till she died in 1986.
MINISTRY
Matthew Ashimolowo went to Bible School in 1974 to pursue the destiny God has for him. After finishing from the Bible School, he was ascribed to the Foursquare Church Shomolu, Lagos which was headed then by Rev. Olu Osibanjo who later became his Father-in-law. He was a popular figure among the undergraduates because he regularly ministered in the Scripture Union (SU) on University Campuses.
He was pastoring a congregation of almost 200 in Foursquare Gospel Church when he decided to Canada to study but was rejected at the point of entry.
He later moved with his family to England in 1984 as mission of the Foursquare denomination to plant churches in London. Before he began his ministry, he and his wife sought the Lord in prayer for 18 months. In 1992, he started Kingsway International Christian Centre (KICC) with almost 300 adults and 100 children.
Currently, he is the founder and CEO of more than 10 profitable companies including a global TV station (KICC TV).
MARITAL STATUS
He met his wife Pastor Yemisi Ashimolowo when he was in Bible School. They got married on August 29, 1981. The couple is blessed with Tobi Ashimolowo and Tomi Ashimolowo.

We could learn from him that delay is not denial. He desired to move to Canada but God had the UK in mind for him. Had he gone to Canada, the ministry may not be moving like this but God in His mercy redirected him.
